What Is the Controversy?

In recent weeks, claims have surfaced alleging that several crores of rupees—reportedly up to ₹7 crore—may be missing or misappropriated from donations received at the Ram Temple. The allegations have sparked significant political debate.

Leaders including Akhilesh Yadav and Sanjay Raut have questioned the management of the funds and called for an impartial investigation under judicial oversight.

However, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has firmly rejected the allegations, stating that temple finances are managed transparently and are subject to regular audits.

Amid growing public attention, reports indicate that the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has sought a detailed report on the matter, following which inquiries and reviews are reportedly underway.

It is worth noting that since the grand consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in January 2024, the temple has received substantial donations from devotees in India and abroad. Earlier disclosures made during a trust meeting in December 2025 indicated that total donations had reached approximately ₹4,575 crore.

Given the scale of these contributions and the immense emotional significance of the temple, any proven financial irregularity would be a matter of serious concern and public embarrassment. That is why the complete truth must emerge, and it must do so through a transparent and credible process.
