New Delhi, 06 June : 1996 batch IPS officer Seemant Kumar Singh, a resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar and born in Ranchi, has been appointed as the Police Commissioner of Bangalore, who took charge today. Seemant Kumar Singh's home may be in Bihar, but his in-laws are in Palamu district of Jharkhand. Seemant Kumar Singh became very popular during the Corona virus, because Biharis, Bengalis, Odias, Rajasthanis or Purvanchalis living in Bangalore all wanted to return to their homes, for whom Seemant Kumar asked the government to run special trains and helped them reach their homes.
He played an excellent role in providing ration, medicine, clothes, and even food to the people from other states living in Bangalore during Corona. People were dying due to lack of oxygen during Corona, but the initiative taken by the current Police Commissioner to serve the public at that time became a record.
Before becoming the Police Commissioner, Seemant Kumar Singh was posted as ADGP of Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force, but when the news of 11 people dying and fifty people getting injured during the accident at Chinnaswamy Stadium came, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar took immediate decision to save their government's disgrace and made Seemant Kumar Singh the Police Commissioner of Bangalore, while suspending former Police Commissioner Dayanand.
1996 batch IPS officer and current Police Commissioner of Bangalore Seemant Kumar Singh has worked as Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Indian Security Force. To save people during the Corona period, he was given the responsibility of six districts by the Karnataka government, where he worked successfully and brought laurels to the government and administration. Seemant Kumar Singh has done better work from Traffic DCP of Bangalore West to Mangalore Police Commissioner, as a result of which today the state government has posted him as Additional Director General of Police along with the Police Commissioner of Bangalore. As an officer of Anti Corruption Bureau, ACB, his activities were highly praised. At that time, due to the strict steps taken by him, a case also went to the High Court, due to which he became very popular. Seemant Kumar Singh's son-in-law is also an IPS, who is posted in Bihar.
