‘Mahakumbh’ is also special from the economic point of view

Mahakumbh 2025 is the biggest religious event in the world, which not only gives a new identity to India's cultural heritage on the global stage, but it is also very special for India from the economic point of view. The reason for this is that not only devotees, saints and sages are excited about this fair which comes after 12 years, but the holy land of Prayagraj also attracts tourists in large numbers. Tourists not only come to Mahakumbh for holy bath, but they also visit other tourist destinations, obviously, it is no less than a boom from the economic point of view of the country.

The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath aims to become a trillion economy and the central government aims to make the country the third largest economy in the world. It would not be wrong to say that Maha Kumbh is not only the biggest religious event in the world, but it also has a distinct identity as a trade fair. 45 crore people are expected to attend this year's Maha Kumbh, which is a huge number in itself. In 2013, when the last Purna Kumbh was held, 20 crore people came for bathing and darshan, while during the Ardh Kumbh held in 2019, this number increased to 25 crores. This time if this number is expected to reach 45 crores, then it will be called an important time for the cultural and economic progress of India.

In this world's biggest religious event which started on 13th January, more than 34 crore people have taken a dip in the Triveni so far. This Kumbh will continue till the holy day of Mahashivratri on 26th February, therefore, there are still many days left. In such a situation, there is every possibility that the expected arrival of 45 crore people will be fulfilled, there is no doubt about it.

If we look at it from a business perspective, if each devotee out of the 45 crore people coming to the Maha Kumbh spends an average of 5 to 10 thousand rupees, then it is certain that there will be a business of 4 to 4.5 lakh crore rupees, which will give a great boost to the economy of the state and the country. Regarding the people coming from abroad, there is also a full possibility that if they come to take a holy bath in the Triveni, then they will definitely visit other parts of the country as well, which is another important aspect of the economic point of view of this Maha Kumbh. The figures are showing the authenticity of the estimate of 1 percent increase in the country's GDP due to Maha Kumbh, due to which the economy of the country's largest state Uttar Pradesh will become one trillion and India will become the third largest economic power in the world, the contribution of Maha Kumbh is definitely going to be important in this direction.

India's GDP in 2023-24 was Rs 295.36 lakh crore. It has been estimated that the GDP will increase to 324.11 lakh crore in 2024-25. If the country's economy is expected to get such growth, then the role of Maha Kumbh will be well known, this will not only give new strength to the Indian economy but will also strengthen the economic structure of the society. Maha Kumbh also makes an unprecedented contribution as a provider of employment, because in this people not only get a wonderful opportunity to expand their work, but new employment opportunities are also created in various fields from hospitality to transport, that is why Maha Kumbh is the best event of this period. This auspicious occasion comes after many years, which works to make the country prosperous and strong from the economic point of view along with our art and culture. In such a situation, if such a holy occasion has come in a country full of its unprecedented cultural richness, then it is the best opportunity to give wings to the vision of heritage and development of the government.

India is rapidly moving towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, but it will reach the heights of success only when the country is strong on the economic front, because economic prosperity will not only speed up the journey of the country's infrastructure but will also provide strength. Strengthening of infrastructure is the biggest driver of economic progress of the country, because it gives a boost to the tourism industry along with other types of industries. If, on the pretext of Maha Kumbh, people, especially those coming from abroad, are visiting the state and other states for sightseeing, then it is definitely a good sign that the Indian tourism industry is also getting a good boost. This is also the time to keep in mind for the future that we do not need to take our tourism industry lightly at all, rather we have to work towards strengthening the tourism industry further. New tourist destinations need to be created and the destinations that already exist also need to be given a modern look. It is a good thing that the government has done a good job in this direction in the last 10 years. Unprecedented steps have been taken to develop the country's tourism industry with a new thinking, which were very necessary from the economic point of view, because India has a lot of potential to attract people from all over the world from the cultural and tourism point of view. That is why there was a great need to develop tourism sites in a new way, because this will have the advantage that the tourist who comes to India even once will be inspired to come to India every time. In such a situation, there will be continuity in the number of tourists, which will determine good and long-term results from the economic point of view and this situation will also make the vision of India becoming a developed nation by 2047 a reality.
